About

HR practitioners for growing companies.

Policy is the part of HR that gets put off until it becomes a lawsuit, an audit or a resignation. We are HR practitioners who write and maintain the documents that decide how a company behaves under pressure, and who help it through the changes that test them.

Jessica Covey

Principal · HR Policy & Compliance

Advanced diploma, Business Administration — Human Resources · BSc in Human Resources in progress · SHRM certification in progress

Jessica spent four and a half years in HR at a 5,000-employee hospital system with multiple collective agreements, one of the most policy-dense employers there is.

She has also been the only HR person at a national nonprofit and delivered outsourced HR to small businesses: the seat most of our clients are sitting in.

Standard Practice brings that discipline to companies of 25–150 people, in every state they hire in. Based in Georgia, USA.

Plain language

If a policy needs interpreting, it will be interpreted inconsistently.

A named reviewer

Every document has a person who approved it, and we tell you who.

Maintenance over delivery

A document that is never updated becomes a liability.

Talk to a practitioner, not a sales team.
